The UHS Corporate Construction team is hiring a dynamic Director - Construction Audit & Compliance to provide financial oversight and schedule risk management for all construction projects from solicitation of bids to final payment. This position also ensures UHS projects are compliant with agreed upon contract and business terms and ensures that UHS employees and vendors are acting in the best interest of UHS and are transparent and honest in their dealings with the company.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Develops and executes an internal construction audit protocol that conforms to our framework for corporate standards. Provide process improvement for the entire project management group so our team members are better armed to support audit initiatives through various project controls
  • Performs contract review and compliance with Request For Proposal (RFP) response and Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) analysis (including trade bid analysis)
  • Conducts initial project audits on large high risk projects at project onset, followed by random project audits during construction and final project audits within 60-90 day of project completion periods
  • Reviews monthly invoicing to ensure early compliance with agreed contract conditions and business terms
  • Assists in the management of our new Project Budget Tracker to ensure consistent reporting of all projects as it relates to budget, forecast at completion, cash flow projections, change orders etc. Coordinates integration of ‘SmartSheet’ platform with McKesson technology. Attend quarterly budget review meetings with PM’s and other department Sr. leadership
  • Oversees insurance compliance
  • Provides VP & Sr. Directors formal monthly reports on final and interim audits completed and to be undertaken the following months

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 10+ years' experience in Healthcare Construction audit.
  • Detail orientated with construction audit experience that understands in detail industry standard business terms for architects, engineers, contracts etc.
  • Strong financial background with the ability to interface with multiple stakeholders; specific construction implementation experience negotiating skills, strong interpersonal skills to lead vendors, and solid business decision making skills
  • Very proficient with various IT platforms that assist real time budget reporting and forecasting by PM’s and provides combined reporting that easily and quickly identify high risk projects
  • Travel 25% to 35%
